From a single mom to becoming a self-made millionaire, what did that journey look like?
It was a complete transformation—financially, mentally, and emotionally. Just a few years ago, I was living in a single bedroom at my sister’s house, drowning in debt, and struggling to provide for my child. I had to unlearn everything I thought I knew about money and success. The biggest shift was realizing that wealth isn’t just about how much you work—it’s about how you think, the risks you take, and the opportunities you create. Once I started investing strategically, surrounding myself with the right people, and adopting the mindset of a millionaire, everything changed. I went from financial struggle to making my first million in three years.
Was there a concrete moment you associate with the beginning of this new phase of your life?
Yes. It was the moment I got laid off from my corporate job during the pandemic. At first, I felt devastated, but then I realized I had a choice—I could keep playing it safe, or I could take control of my financial future. I decided to go all in, investing in myself, learning how to make my money work for me, and stepping into a world I had previously been too afraid to enter. That moment of fear turned into a moment of power.
A lot of people want to start their own businesses, but most are afraid or not willing to take a risk. What's the successful formula?
Success isn’t about luck—it’s about action. The formula is simple: Mindset + Strategy + Execution. You have to think like a millionaire before you ever see the money. You need a proven strategy, whether it's investing, business, or another vehicle for wealth. And finally, execution—taking action before you feel "ready." Most people get stuck in analysis paralysis. The difference between those who make it and those who don’t is the willingness to bet on themselves.
Can you really have it all?
Absolutely—but you have to define what "having it all" means for you. Society tells women they have to choose between family, success, and happiness, but I reject that notion. Financial freedom gave me the ability to design my life on my terms. I can be present for my children and grandchild, enjoy my success, and still create generational wealth. The key is designing a life where your wealth supports your priorities—not the other way around.
What's your take on manifestation? The term gained a lot of popularity over the last few years.
I’m a huge believer in manifestation, but not in the "sit and hope" way many people think of it. Manifestation is about aligning your mindset, energy, and actions with the results you want. It’s about believing so deeply in your success that your decisions and behaviors start reflecting that belief. I didn’t just wish for millions—I rewired my mind, took aligned action, and created the opportunities that led me to where I am today.
What are some common misconceptions about manifestation that you've encountered?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that you can simply think about money, and it will magically appear. That’s not how it works. Manifestation is about mindset, but it’s also about execution. You have to do the work. Another misconception is that it’s only about wealth. Manifestation is about attracting the right opportunities, people, and resources—not just money.
Are there any specific success stories from your clients that stand out to you the most?
So many! One of my favorite stories is from Tameka, who transitioned from a 15-year corporate career to becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom while making more money than she ever did in her job. She trusted the process, liquidated old investments, and took bold action. Within her first year, she profited nearly $300,000—even after paying off her initial investments. Her story proves that when you truly commit, the results will follow.
What do you think are the biggest barriers women face when it comes to financial empowerment?
Scarcity mindset and fear. So many women have been taught to play it safe, to avoid risk, to save instead of invest. The reality is, wealth isn’t built through playing small—it’s built through calculated, strategic decisions. Another major barrier is lack of representation. Women, especially women of color, don’t always see people like them in investment and wealth-building spaces, which can make it feel unattainable. That’s exactly why I created Millionaire Morning Mamas®—to change that.
Could you explain the role of mindset in attracting wealth and making sound financial decisions?
Your mindset determines everything. If you believe money is hard to make, it will be. If you believe wealth is meant for other people but not you, you’ll stay stuck. When I shifted my mindset to money flows to me easily, I am in control of my financial future, my entire world changed. The most successful people in the world don’t just work hard—they think differently. They see opportunities where others see obstacles.
How do you keep yourself motivated and disciplined in your daily routine?
I start every morning with Millionaire Morning Mamas® routines—meditation, scripting, and visualization. These habits keep me focused, intentional, and in the right energy. I also remind myself daily that my success isn’t just about me—it’s about my family and the thousands of women I’m helping break generational financial limits. When your why is bigger than you, motivation becomes non-negotiable.
What does financial freedom mean to you on a personal level?
It means options—the ability to make decisions from a place of power, not desperation. Financial freedom allows me to say "yes" to the things that truly align with my goals and values, whether it's providing for my family, investing in opportunities, or creating memorable experiences. But just as importantly, it gives me the ability to say "no" without fear.
I don’t have to take on projects, partnerships, or obligations that don’t serve me just because I need the money. I don’t have to work with people who drain my energy. I don’t have to stretch myself thin or compromise my peace for the sake of a paycheck. Financial freedom is about waking up every day knowing that I own my time, my choices, and my future. It’s about creating a life that is not just wealthy, but intentional, fulfilling, and truly mine.
How do you define success beyond financial metrics?
Success is about impact. It’s about knowing I’ve helped thousands of women step into their financial power. It’s about creating generational wealth that outlives me. Money is a tool, but true success is about freedom, legacy, and making a difference.
What about happiness?
Happiness is freedom—the ability to wake up every day knowing I control my time, my choices, and my future. It’s the peace that comes from knowing I am no longer in survival mode, no longer making decisions out of fear, but from a place of abundance.
Coming from virtually nothing and overcoming a difficult marriage, I now have the ability to create the kind of life I once thought was out of reach. I can block off time during the day to watch my grandbaby, take my entire family on first-class vacations, and host them all for the holidays without stress or worry. I get to experience incredible moments—like attending New York Fashion Week—because I said yes to building wealth in a way that works for me. But most importantly, I’ve created a life where I can give freely. My success isn’t just mine—I share it with my family, my employees, and my clients. I live and breathe the belief that money is abundant, and I pour that abundance into the people around me.
Happiness isn’t just about having money—it’s about what that money allows you to do, how it allows you to show up for the people you love, and the impact you can make when you no longer have to think in limitations. That is true happiness. That is true wealth.
